Why it matters at UK weddings
Most UK weddings have two guest lists: day guests who come to the ceremony and meal, and evening guests who join for the party. A single public wedding website shows everyone the same timings, which can lead to evening guests turning up at 1pm or feeling left out.
Your three options
- Two separate websites. Simple, but twice the work, and updates have to be made in two places.
- DIY builder workarounds. Some builders let you tag guests or hide pages. It can work, but couples often find it fiddly to set up and test.
- Private guest access codes. One website where each code unlocks the right details. This is how we built our own wedding site.
What each guest sees
Day guests
Ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, evening, accommodation, RSVP and song requests.
Evening guests
Evening arrival time, venue and parking, dress code, accommodation, RSVP and song requests.

Can one wedding website show different details to day and evening guests?
Yes. The cleanest way is a private access code per guest or group. Day guests enter their code and see the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening. Evening guests see only the evening details.
Can I do this on Hitched, Joy or Zola?
Some DIY builders offer workarounds such as guest tags, groups or password-protected pages. They can work, but couples often find them fiddly to set up, and guests may still see pages that weren't meant for them.
Do guests need to create an account?
No. With an access code, guests simply type their code once. There's nothing to sign up for.
